The 27th Annual MUCR Cup Golf Tournament

By Mahoney

The 27th Annual MUCR Cup Golf Tournament was held at Lost Spur Golf Course in Eagan on September 2nd, 2021.  This time-honored tradition has evolved over the years, with two people on a team in the 1995 inaugural year, to three or four people on a team this year.  We even had two of our retired partners participate this year!

It was a beautiful day for golf.  There were eight teams competing for their names on the coveted MUCR Cup.  With a shotgun start at 1 p.m., the teams were off.  The rules require that each team member’s drive be used at least once and then it is best ball after that.  Some of those who didn’t want to golf drove the beverage carts and kept the scores.  A good time was had by all!

The champions were Greg Bienias, Kari Erickson and Tyler Hanson with a score of three under par.  In addition to traditional golf there were a few other contests.  The winner of the longest putt was Josh Russell.  The winners of the longest drive were LeeAnn Bezek for the ladies and Sam Broman for the men.  The winner of closest to the pin was Jake Dalnes for the guys, unfortunately none of the women landed on the green .

After golf, we enjoyed time together on the patio.  It was a great day!
